Travel program

Day 1, Friday 1 October: Chianti

about km 100

The welcome formalities complete, we’ll spend half a day building confidence with the bike, analysing the theory and applying the basics of off-road riding. We will ride on all kinds of surfaces suited to the V85TT, from white roads to tight, mixed sections, in order to enjoy the bike’s dynamic qualities. We will soon appreciate the V85TT on one of the most beautiful tarmacked routes in Chianti, a breathtaking narrow, mixed section that takes us towards Castellina; from here, we’ll get our breath back as we continue to Radda, where we will join the “Eroica” circuit and start to build confidence with the bike in an easy off-road setting.

Day 2, Saturday 2 October: the Sword in the Stone

about km 240

The excitement continues as we alternate between roads that seem designed to fuel our passion for riding and easy dirt paths. We will admire the jewel that is the Abbey of San Galgano and have chance to touch the legendary sword in the stone for ourselves. We will then continue on to the beautiful thermal springs of Petriolo, before finishing with a visit to the enchanting medieval village of Montalcino, also famous thanks to Brunello, one of the best Italian wines.

Day 3, Sunday 3 October: more of Chianti!

about km 200

The Chianti area is more mountainous than hilly, so the white roads become a little more technicalbut we’re familiar with off-roading now and the easy to ride V85TT does the rest, so we can enjoy the dust and end the day dirty but happy.

Day 4, Monday 4 October: Crete Senesi

about km 100

An enjoyable last half day with the V85TT, exploring the roads of the “crete senesi”, a fascinating lunar landscape, and getting anothertaste of the gravel, something we can no longer do without…

After returning the bikes and enjoying a buffet lunch of traditional local products, it’s time to raise a toast and say goodbye!
